Mumbai:Three persons sustained burns after a gas leak sparked a fire in a house in Mumbai’s eastern suburb Mulund on Sunday evening, civic officials said.
The incident occurred around 5.30 pm at Aman Nagar in the Khindipada area when a technician was carrying out some maintenance work, they said.
The official said that the fire was brought under control and extinguished soon after.
The injured were identified as Pramila Vishwakarma (50), who suffered around 40 per cent burns, Aradhana Vishwakarma (24) with sustained about 20 per cent burns, and Mohammad (52), who suffered nearly 30 per cent burns, he said.
All three were admitted to civic-run Agrawal Hospital in Mulund for treatment, the official said.
The exact cause of the gas leak is being ascertained, the official added.
